Small-batch soap · Grovetown, GA

The corner we started in

Naturally Nooked started in a corner of my kitchen, on the idea that skincare should be a cozy ritual rather than a confusing chore. Everything here is made by hand in small batches, and the whole ingredient list is on every page.

How it started

Naturally Nooked was born from a simple belief: skincare should be a cozy, natural ritual, not a confusing chore. I am a one-person operation, making soap, balms and scrubs by hand in small batches. The aim is to be your quiet retreat — a little corner where you can find comfort, simplicity and a straight answer about what is in the bar.

What I hold to

Three things, and no more than three

Small batch

One pot at a time, in a kitchen, by one pair of hands. Nothing here is made in a quantity I could not carry.

The whole label

Every ingredient prints on the wrap in the order it goes into the pot — including the ones that are less romantic to talk about.

Cured slow

It sits on the rack losing water, getting hard, getting mild. There is no way to hurry it and I have stopped wanting to.

How it's made

How it's made

  1. Step 1

    Poured by hand

Oils, lye and scent, stirred and poured into a wooden mould in my kitchen.

  2. Step 2

    Cured 4–6 weeks

The loaf is cut into bars and left on the rack. Water leaves, the bar hardens, the lather improves. There is no way to hurry it.

  3. Step 3

    Wrapped for your nook

Stamped with its batch, wrapped, and packed the week you order it.

Meet the Nookkeeper

I started because I wanted to know what was in the bar I was already using. Now everything here gets poured into a wooden loaf, cut with a wire the next morning, and then left alone — four to six weeks on the rack, losing water, getting hard, getting mild. That part I can't hurry, and I've stopped wanting to.

Every bar is seven dollars and I keep it there deliberately. I'd rather you had four scents on the shelf and picked one by how the day went than one you were saving for good. The scents are here to make a room feel like somewhere — a campfire, a cold orange, a clean kitchen at the end of a long day. That's all they're for, and I think that's plenty.

And the label prints in full, including the parts that are less romantic. Some of these bars are scented with essential oils and some with fragrance oil, and I tell you which on every single one. Essential oils can't do tobacco, or leather, or a peach that smells like an actual peach — so I use fragrance oil for those, and I'd rather say it here than have you find it in small print later.
